External Factors for System Optimization
External factors are used to make more effective decisions, creating new possibilities.
Buying and selling energy at favorable times based on the current kWh price
To engage in energy trading, a dynamic energy contract is required. A dynamic contract has a different price for each hour of each day. On the EPEX Day-Ahead market, all parties interested in buying and selling energy can view the daily (hourly) prices and trading volumes. Through an Application Programming Interface (API) connection, the SolarGatewayPRO can communicate with an energy trading entity to automate this process.
Use of weather forecasts
The SolarGatewayPRO can make decisions in controlling consumers based on the weather forecasts. Using our API, the SolarGatewayPRO can communicate with the OpenWeather platform to retrieve current weather data, forecasts, and historical information.
Grid Congestion
Due to the growth of sustainable energy generation, the maximum capacity of the power grid has been reached. As a result, companies are no longer allowed to supply energy back to the grid, which is referred to as grid congestion. If a company wishes to pursue sustainability or reduce energy costs with solar panels, they can do so with the SolarGatewayPRO. the generated energy is first distributed as efficiently as possible and devices are controlled as smartly as possible before the SolarGatewayPRO dynamically reduces inverters when there is more generation than consumption. This helps align energy supply and demand more effectively.
